Not only is it an incredibly scenic hike, but the site itself is full of wonder and mystery. It was built by the Teyuna people around 800 AD. (that’s 650 years before Machu Picchu was built), and was discovered recently.

Ciudad Perdida consists of a series of 169 terraces carved into the mountainside, a network of tiled paths and several small circular plazas. The entrance can only be accessed by climbing 1,200 steps

The only way to find yourself in this sacred place is to walk on foot for 4 days and explore nature by passing indigenous villages, crossing rivers, and sleeping in the jungle.
